In the Trans-Pecos, While a Pipeline Stalls Autonomous Resistance Calls

Revised RFC re TRE Co-operative Articles of Agreement Draft Version 0.1

To our allies in the global struggle against the Capitalist Hydra:

The Terlingua Resource Exchange Collective (“TRE”) is in process of formation and hereby issues a Request for Comments on its Co-operative Articles of Agreement (Draft Version 0.1) available for your review here:

http://pastebin.com/47aGQ7p0

TRE has five tracts of land in the Trans-Pecos we intend to develop as autonomous sustainable co-operatives modeled after the Zapatista Caracoles of Chiapas and the Kurdish Cantons of Rojava. If (a) you are an anarchist, anti-capitalist, anti-fascist, eco-activist, fractivist or libertarian; or (b) you are #Anonymous, a cyberactivist tired of hiding behind sock puppets and proxies, or a slacktivist awakening to the fact that your online protests and petitions are feel-good mental masturbation and rarely change anything; and/or (c) you are ready to once again #Occupy the real world and make a difference IRL, then we invite you to take the first step towards joining us by responding to this RFC. Please address your comments, suggestions, input or feedback to “trec@riseup.net”.

In Solidarity,

#MalditosSionistas?

#IStandByIsrael? NO. Zionist Israeli soldiers shoot unarmed Palestinian girl and leave her to bleed to death.

This video posted by the news agency PalMedia shows a young Palestinian woman left to bleed on a sidewalk in the occupied West Bank city of Hebron after she was shot by Israeli soldiers on Tuesday morning. By evening, Palestinian media reported that the woman, 18-year-old Hadil Salah Hashlamoun, had died of her injuries. Instead of being given immediate medical treatment, the video shows her being pulled roughly out of the frame of the camera, her scarf coming off as her head drags on the ground. Israeli settlers and soldiers can be seen standing around, and in some cases smiling and laughing in the background.

PeakWaterUS.com Launches Indiegogo Crowdfunding Campaign With Compelling Eco-Friendly Perks Packages

PeakWaterUS.com is a social enterprise platform under development whose focus will be raising awareness of, empowering activism regarding, and offering self-sufficiency preparedness for “peak water” – the point where demand for safe clean freshwater begins to exceed the combined abilities of nature and man to replenish and supply it. This week they launched a crowdfunding campaign under Environment on Indiegogo.com, their goal being to raise $100,000 in contributions. According to T.R. Shirley, the seasoned activist behind the project:

“Climate change from corporate greed is reshaping our planet. We are entering the era of Peak Water and the Water Wars have begun. Unseen by many, here in America a battle is raging to determine whether the last drop of groundwater pumped from the last exploitable aquifer will be diverted for fracking by Big Oil, contaminated with pesticides by Big Ag, polluted with prescription drugs by Big Pharma, or bottled in plastic and sold for a king’s ransom by Big Water. But if enough concerned American parents and eco-friendly patrons support the buildout of the PeakWaterUS.com platform, the outcome of the above can be none of the above.”

PeakWaterUS.com Launches Indiegogo Crowdfunding Campaign With Compelling Eco-Friendly Perks Packages

Peak oil is here – and vast amounts of America’s dwindling freshwater supply are being diverted and contaminated in a desperate effort to postpone it. Peak water is near – we can’t drink oil, and we can’t keep sacrificing our drinking water to get it. If we don’t get proactive about safe clean water today, there won’t be enough safe clean water to sustain us tomorrow. PeakWaterUS.com will empower that proactivity.

The PeakWaterUS.com hydroactivist platform will consist of three planks: peak water awareness, hydropolitical activism and freshwater scarcity preparedness. It will leverage a freemium business model with membership subscription revenues augmented by the sale of proven and innovative water self-sufficiency solutions, all promoted by eco-friendly affiliate marketing. The proceeds from their crowdfunding will be applied to the web development, software integration, vendor engagement, content production and promotional costs associated with building out the platform and making it operational.

PeakWaterUS.com Launches Indiegogo Crowdfunding Campaign With Compelling Eco-Friendly Perks Packages

Contribute to the PeakWaterUS.com crowdfunding campaign and enjoy the satisfaction that comes from making a positive difference for yourself, your children, fellow humankind and future generations – and your reward won’t end there. Here is a summary of all the compelling eco-friendly perks PeakWaterUS.com is offering:

https://peakwaterus.com/perks

A $35 contribution entitles you to a generous perks package including an exclusive 50% discount on a Sawyer MINI Water Filter, and $50 gets you the same for a Sawyer Squeeze Water Filtration System. Everyone contributing $100 or more gets their choice of an Anvil organic (made from GMO-free organic cotton) or sustainable (made from recycled water bottles) tee included in their package. With your $100 contribution you can elect to receive an exclusive 10% discount on Ecoloblue “water from air” atmospheric water generators worth at least $380 – or with a $500 contribution opt for a 20% discount worth $645 or more. Perk packages including authorship recognition, sponsorship visibility and advisory board status are available for dedicated hydroactivists, concerned hydrophilanthropists and eco-friendly enterprises at the $1000, $5000 and $10000 levels. And once campaign proceeds meet or exceed $100,000 in total, the first 100 contributors from day 1 (6 January 2015) at any level ($25 or more) will be rewarded with a 16-ounce BPA-free stainless steel insulated Klean Kanteen.

Long Distance Motorcyclist IronBoltBruce Rides Through 1,534 Miles of Fracking Ecocide in 22 Hours

September 5, 2014 Leave a comment

Fracking Ecocide

A record-holding endurance motorcycle rider and biker activist experiences first-hand what America is sacrificing to maintain the myth of energy independence and other false promises of natural gas hydraulic fracturing.

)(

Tuesday 2 September 2014 marked the end of 5 days and 3,755 miles in the saddle for me. My two-wheeled trek began with what the Iron Butt Association should certify as my 55th IBA ride and 22nd Bun Burner GOLD 1500. The BBG1500 requires a documented ride of at least 1,500 miles in 24 hours or less, and in this case I covered the 1,534-mile distance from Miami Beach Florida to Del Rio Texas in 22 hours and 1 minute.

At 8:07am ET Thursday 28 August 2014 I logged a gas receipt in South Beach to mark the start of my ride up the Florida Turnpike through Orlando to I-75 North, then west on I-10/I-12/I-10 through the Panhandle, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana into Texas, where from San Antonio I continued west on US-90 arriving in the border town of Del Rio at 5:08am CT the next morning.

As a Native Texan exiled in South Florida, I have ridden deep into the heart of the Lone Star State and back again many times. And like many times before, the weather was warm and dry from end to end so I rode the entire stretch with my face in the wind. But unlike any rides of the past, this time riding mostly lidless and always shieldless from SoBe to South Texas exposed me to more than just sunshine and starlight:

Hidalgo – my 1999 Harley-Davidson FXDS – has a stock 4.9 gallon fuel tank which requires me to stop and refuel every 2 to 3 hours. And at almost every pit stop from Okeechobee on, I had to take my faded blue bandanna and wipe off a thin film of some kind of gunk that was collecting on my shades. What was coating my sunglasses and no doubt entering my lungs I can’t say, but when I typed “substances found “ into a search box Google quickly added “suspended in the air”

https://www.google.com/search?q=substances+found+suspended+in+the+air

… and when I typed “pollutants in “ Google’s recommended completion was “the air”:

https://www.google.com/search?q=pollutants+in+the+air

The air was different – and so was the sky. I’ve ridden west into more sunsets over Louisiana than I care to count, but the skies over Hammond around 7:00pm that Thursday simply did not look like they used to. The sky was still basically blue, the sparse clouds basically white, and the sun setting behind them basically yellow with pink glows and red radiants – but the colors were all softer or milkier than, and the clarity and contrast not as sharp as, they used to be. I can’t really put into words what I saw or why it seemed different, but the the impact of pollution on sky colors may explain it:

https://www.google.com/search?q=pollution+impact+on+sky+colors

By the time I rode across the Sabine River bridge into Sweet Mother Texas the sun was completely down and the light of a crescent moon somewhat obscured what might otherwise have been a star-filled night sky. But after crossing over the backbone of the ongoing fracking ecocide that is the Eagle Ford Shale Play, I was reminded once again that what filled the cool night air was not starlight:

http://stories.weather.com/fracking

The beard on my chin is about 4 inches long and normally white with a touch of gray in color. But after completing my ride and checking into single-star accommodations on the Del Rio US-90 strip, the beard I saw on my soot-covered face in the mirror was as black as asphalt! It took a whole bottle of motel shampoo, most of a bar of motel soap, and several minutes of scrubbing to get all the sticky tar-like goop out of my matted whiskers. When I was finished, the rinse water in the sink looked as nasty as backed-up sewage. And thinking about what the lining of my lungs looked like has made me mad enough to march:

http://peoplesclimate.org/march/

I know it takes oil to keep my Harley on the road. But if we have to poison the land we love, pollute the air we breathe, and condemn our grandchildren to life in a Mad Max ecological wasteland to produce it, I’d rather ride a horse.

Boston Marathon Scare: Our Terrorism Abroad Washes Back Ashore

April 17, 2013 Leave a comment

Boston Marathon Bombing | Boston Marathon Scare

Regardless of who was really behind them and why, chances are the Boston Marathon bombings would not have happened if unconstitutional laws like AUMF 2001 and NDAA 2012 Sec 1021 were not on the books.

)(

Monday’s Boston Marathon bombing killed 3 Americans and wounded more than 170 others. It was clearly an act of terrorism, but as with 9/11 no terrorist organization has thus far claimed responsibility. That’s seen by some as an indication that the act was state-sponsored. If so, what state?

I don’t know who did it. You probably don’t know who did it. And I’m convinced that the fearmongering CNN, Faux News, MSDNC and other mainstream media empty talking heads that started cackling “Al Qaeda! Al Qaeda! Al Qaeda! Homegrown Jihadists! 9/11!” before the dust even settled have no clue either.

Yes, the Boston Marathon Scare – which is how it will be leveraged by the fascist propaganda mouthpieces of our government and the Military Industrial Complex that controls it – is a human tragedy. But it is only one of countless human tragedies, and perhaps for perspective we should view it in comparison to just a few of the other “acts of terrorism” that occurred within a few days of the Beantown bombings:

  • In Afghanistan, a “fierce battle between U.S.-backed Afghan forces and Taliban militants in a remote corner of eastern Afghanistan left nearly 20 people dead, including 11 Afghan children killed in an airstrike… An airstrike in the same district in Kunar that killed 10 civilians in mid-February prompted Karzai to ban his forces from requesting airstrikes (http://mil-com.me/XQKJ6B). “And along with drone attacks, an average of 4.8 children are killed per day in Afghanistan…” (http://bit.ly/YsOrym).
  • In Iraq – where Dubya declared “Mission Accomplished” and which Odrona claims we “left with honor” – “As of midday on Monday, as security officials and medical workers continued to count the dead and wounded, at least 37 people had been killed and more than 140 wounded in nearly 20 separate attacks, mostly car bombings, in Baghdad, Kirkuk, Hilla, Falluja, Nasiriya and Tikrit, according to local officials. The local elections, the first since the withdrawal of the American military at the end of 2011, are being anticipated warily by American diplomats and United Nations officials as a crucial test of Iraq’s shaky democracy” (http://nyti.ms/159GLZ4).
  • In Pakistan, “At least 5 persons were killed and seven others injured when a US drone struck a compound in South Waziristan Agency (SWA) here in Wana on Wednesday. According to details, an unmanned US spy plane fired two missiles at a residential compound located in village Sararogha of Babar Kot in SWA. As a result of missiles strike the compound was destroyed completely resulting in death of 5 people and leaving 7 others injured. It was feared that death toll may rise further as condition of some injured people was also stated to be critical” (http://bit.ly/YTy0zy). U.S. drone strikes in Pakistan are killing 49 innocent civilians – including children – for every 1 “known terrorist” taken out (http://bit.ly/NOthd0).
  • Here at home, “Almost once every hour a U.S. military veteran takes his or her life. The Department of Veterans Affairs reports that 22 veterans commit suicide every day, on average. Austin veteran Andrew O’Brien almost become one of them. He survived a suicide attempt in 2010, after returning from a 12-month deployment to Iraq. Now he’s telling his story to raise awareness of post-traumatic stress disorder and military suicides” (http://bit.ly/110Kumb).

For decades America’s false and failed “nationbuilding” efforts have spread death, destruction and moral decay more so than “democracy”. American drone, missile and bomb strikes are now terrorizing, maiming and killing innocent civilians and children in unprecedented numbers, and America’s military forces are losing more troops to guilt- and depression-related suicides than they are to enemy forces that the American government itself is funding. It should come as no surprise, consequently, that the insanity and inhumanity our perpetual wars for oil and profit are proliferating overseas would make their way back to our shores.

Regardless of who was really behind the Boston Marathon attack – and regardless of whether their motive was payback for years of murder and mayhem or psyop propaganda to convince you to sacrifice Social Security that’s real for National Security that isn’t – one thing is certain: On Monday 15 April 2013 the citizens of Boston got a very small taste of the death and destruction America delivers daily around the world, the principal and questionable legal justification for which is the post 9/11 2001 Authorization for Use of Military Force. Pass H.R. 198 to repeal it, and we’ll all be in a safer place. AUMF Hunger Striker IronBoltBruce has fasted for 22 days, lost 31 pounds and much of his strength in hopes of raising awareness and rallying support to make that happen (http://RepealAUMF.org).

And you?

AUMF Hunger Strike Enters 15th Day

April 10, 2013 1 comment

)(

Demanding the repeal of the post 9/11 Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF), one American grandfather vows he’d rather die of a hunger strike than see his grandchildren die of a drone strike.

)(

The hunger strike of the human rights and civil liberties activist known as IronBoltBruce entered Day 15 at 6:00am ET on Wednesday 10 April 2013. The record-holding long distance motorcycle rider has eaten nothing since his fast began on 27 March and declares “I have lost 23 pounds and some of my strength but none of my resolve to see AUMF 2001 repealed and my grandchildren saved.”

His seminal act has initiated the “AUMF Hunger Strike” – Twitter hashtag #AumfHungerStrike – the singular demand of which is the repeal of Public Law 107-40, the Authorization for Use of Military Force Act signed into law by George W. Bush on 18 September 2001. Enacted just seven days after the attacks of 9/11, “AUMF 2001” gave the President sweeping and essentially unchecked powers to wage a global war of vengeance against the alleged perpetrators. Specifically, the President was and is “…authorized to use all necessary and appropriate force against those nations, organizations, or persons he determines planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, or harbored such organizations or persons, in order to prevent any future acts of international terrorism against the United States by such nations, organizations or persons.”

Over the ensuing 11 years, the AUMF 2001 carte blanche has served as the legal justification for a number of controversial military and government actions both abroad and at home, and by both President Bush and President Obama. Both administrations asserted AUMF as their authority to violate the sovereignty of nations with which we are not at war and conduct drone strikes which in Pakistan, for example, are reportedly killing 49 innocent civilians – including children – for every 1 “known terrorist” taken out. When on Valentine’s Day 2012 Obama signed “H.R.658 FAA Modernization and Reform Act of 2012” into law as Public Law 112-95 he authorized the use of drones in American airspace, and whether under AUMF 2001 that authority extends to the government execution of domestic airstrikes against American citizens was the focus of Senator Rand Paul’s widely publicized 12-hour filibuster last month.

Also here at home, AUMF 2001 serves as the statutory basis for Section 1021 of the National Defense Authorization Act of Fiscal Year 2012, or “NDAA 2012”, signed into law by Barack Obama on New Year’s Eve 2011 as Public Law 112-81. Known also as the “Homeland Battlefield” or “Indefinite Detention” provision, it gives the federal goverment “police state” authority to detain without charge and hold without trial American citizens on American soil, effectively nullifying the protection of habeas corpus and overriding the Bill of Rights. NDAA 2012 Section 1021 is being contested as unconstitutional in federal court by a group of activists headed by Pultizer Prize winner Chris Hedges, but for now it remains law.

An American citizen and grandfather concerned about the future and freedom of his grandchildren, IronBoltBruce committed to the AUMF Hunger Strike in hopes of raising public awareness of the threats to life and liberty posed by AUMF 2001 and NDAA 2012. The repeal of AUMF will undo NDAA, and that is what the AUMF Hunger Strike demands. Congresswoman Barbara Lee – the only U.S. Representative to vote against the 2001 AUMF – recently sponsored H.R. 198: Repeal of the Authorization for Use of Military Force, the passage and enactment of which would satisfy AUMF Hunger Strikers like IronBoltBruce. Unless more concerned citizens participate in the hunger strike and support RepealAUMF.org (@RepealAUMFNow) in order to inspire a groundswell of grassroots political and direct action, however, GovTrack.us gives H.R. 198 a “2% chance of getting past committee” and a “0% chance of being enacted.”

“The United States Government has ‘aligned itself with Al Qaeda’ in Syria and elsewhere, Senator Graham. So as per your guidance, who do we detain without charge under NDAA 2012, and who do we execute without trial under AUMF 2001? Should we start with President Obama, or you?”
